Seefeld in Tyrol is one of the most beautiful hiking regions in the Alps - and for good reason. Located at an altitude of over 1,200 meters, Tyrol's high plateau offers a network of around 650 kilometers of marked hiking trails. Whether a leisurely walk to the nearest mountain lake, a panoramic tour for the whole family or a challenging summit tour: Everyone will find their own rhythm around Seefeld.

As guests of our apartments on the Geigenbühel, you are ideally positioned: Many of the most beautiful routes start right on your doorstep. We have put together the 7 most beautiful hikes for you - with verified information so that you start perfectly prepared.

1. Triendl saw round – right on the doorstep

🟢 Easy · approx. 4 km · approx. 100 Hm · approx. 1 - 1.5 hours

This round literally starts with us: From Apart Walser the path leads directly to the surrounding hiking trail. Via the Waldsteig you reach the idyllic Klammbach Bridge and further to the Gasthof Triendlsäge - one of the most popular resites in the region. The way back leads via the panoramic path with a beautiful view over Seefeld back to the town center.

💡 Insider tip: If you want, choose the path through the Kesselwald on the way back - a little longer, but much quieter and shady on warm summer days.

2. Circular hike to the Möserer See – family favorite

🟢 Easy · 10 km · approx. 134 Hm · approx. 3 hours

From the Seekirchl in Seefeld you follow the forest path No. 2 through the Kirchwald in the direction of Mösern. The destination is the Möserer See - one of the warmest natural bathing lakes in Tyrol with up to 25 degrees warm water, often decorated with rare water lilies. Directly on the shore, the Möserer Seestub'n invites you to rest. The way back leads through the Seewald back to Seefeld, past the jump jumps of the Toni-Seelos-Arena.

💡 Insider tip: The lake is also ideal for swimming - pack your swimsuits and relax right on the shore!

3. Gschwandtkopf – the local mountain of Seefeld

🟡 Easy–Medium · 7.2 km · approx. 340 Hm · approx. 2.5–3 hours

The Gschwandtkopf (1,417 m) is Seefeld's local mountain and is located right next to the town center - easily accessible on foot. The tour starts at Seekirchl, leads through the Kirchwald to Mösern and up to the summit plateau. Above is an unobstructed panoramic view over Seefeld, the Inntal and the Mieminger mountains. If you don't want to go up on foot, you can use the chairlift. At the summit, the Sonnenalm and the mountain restaurant with panoramic terrace invite you to take a break. A special highlight: the storage pond, which reflects the surrounding peaks.

💡 Insider tip: The Sonnenalm is known for its traditional Tyrolean cuisine - the Kaiserschmarrn is worth ordering!

4. Reither Spitze – the panoramic summit

🔴 Demanding · approx. 9.8 km · approx. 1,150 Hm · approx. 6 hours in total

If you stand at a peak height of 2,374 meters, you will be rewarded with one of the most beautiful panoramas in North Tyrol: Karwendel, Wetterstein, Inntal and on clear days even the Großglockner are at your feet. Starting point is the parking lot Maxhütte (P6) near Reith bei Seefeld - reachable by regional bus directly from Seefeld. The path leads over the Reitherjoch Alm (1,505 m, farmed) to the highest hut in the Karwendel, the Nördlinger Hütte (2,238 m), and from there to the Reither Spitze. Surefootedness and freedom from vertigo are mandatory on the secured summit steig.

💡 Insider tip: The Reitherjoch Alm halfway serves hearty Tyrolean delicacies with a sun terrace - the perfect gas station for the long way.

5. Seefelder Joch – high alpine with lift option

🟡 Easy–Medium · approx. 4.3 km (from Rosshütte) · approx. 310 Hm · approx. 2–3 hours

The Seefelder Joch (2,060 m) offers a breathtaking view from the Karwendel to the Zugspitze - and is also accessible for beginners thanks to the Rosshütte funicular. From the Rosshütte mountain station (1,751 m) you follow the mountain path No. 10 up to the Joch with summit cross and the gazebous. If you go up on foot, you save the mountain railway costs and overcome about 550 more altitude meters from the valley. The way back can be done by train at any time.

💡 Insider tip: At the Seefelder Joch there is a small coffee bar with cake and beer garden - ideal for a break with a panoramic view of the Karwendel Mountains.

6. Seefelder Königstour – Seefelder Spitze & Reither Spitze

🔴 Challenging · approx. 5 km (from Joch) · approx. 500 Hm (from yoe) · approx. 4–5 hours (from Joch)

The queen of the Seefeld hikes connects two peaks: Seefelder Spitze (2,221 m) and Reither Spitze (2,374 m), with a stop at the Nördlinger Hütte (2,238 m). The tour starts at the Seefeld Joch - accessible by funicular and Jochbahn from Seefeld. Surefootedness and freedom from vertigo are absolutely necessary on the cable-secured passages. Experienced mountain hikers are rewarded with a 360° panorama over the entire Central Alps.

💡 Insider tip: The Nördlinger Hütte is the highest hut in the Karwendel and also offers overnight stays - ideal for all those who want to use the next day for further tours.

7. Leutaschtal – the quiet valley behind it

🟢 Easy · variable · little altitude · from 1 hour upwards

Via the Seefelder Sattel you reach the Leutaschtal - one of the longest high valleys in the Alps, surrounded by the Wetterstein Mountains and the Karwendel Nature Park. The atmosphere is completely different: quieter, more original, less touristy. In the valley there are numerous paths of varying degrees of difficulty, from simple walking paths to alpine tours to the Hohe Munde. With the regional bus you can easily get back to Seefeld.

💡 Insider tip: The Leutaschtal is known for the ghostly ramp directly on the Leutascher Ache - an impressive nature experience especially for families with children.

All seven routes start directly with us or are easily accessible by regional bus - including free use for guests with the Seefeld guest card, which you will receive from us upon arrival.
